In Amberley, a small town north of the city of Christchurch in the South Island, there is a monument to Farrier Sergeant O.H. Turner. The inscription reads “To thine own self be true” which was written on a piece of paper found on his body. Hamlet Act I scene 3: Polonius’s advice to his son Laertes.
