Lieutenant
Colonel Thomas Porter, Commanding Officer of the 7th Contingent was
given the honour of becoming a Companion of the Most Honourable Military Order
of the Bath. All the men of the Seventh Contingent earned a South African War
campaign medal with clasps reading “South Africa 1901” and “South Africa 1902”.
